About Us

The Scottsdale Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (SPYO) is a dynamic group of musicians who come together to perform great works of music. Under the baton of Dr. Daniel Atwood, the SPYO produces four exciting concerts a year that explore compositions by great composers including Elgar, Holst, Bach, Schumann, Diabelli, Mozart, Beethoven, and many more. The SPYO is designed for students who attend high school, but also accepts younger musicians who play at the high school level.
